Party Central Committee meets to discuss budget for until 2025

The week-long session will see the Central Committee discuss budget expenses so far this year and consider proposed socio-economic development plans and budget plans for the next three years.

It will orientate plans for 2021-30 and set out a vision for until 2050 as Vietnam continues to accelerate toward industrialization and modernization.

Members will give their opinions on strengthening socialism and rule of law, 15 years of implementation of the resolution adopted by the fifth Party Central Committee on renewing the Party’s leadership in the operation of the political system and a number of other important issues.

Speaking at the opening, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said the issues that need to be discussed and decided are all “very important, but also very difficult, complex and sensitive.”

There have been guidelines and policies to address many issues but “many limitations and weaknesses” remain, and so it is imperative the policies are implemented at a “new level [of efficiency] with new determination,” he said.

He exhorted the members to foster a sense of responsibility, research, discuss and contribute “profound” ideas for consideration during the session.

The budgets and other proposals will be put to vote during the plenum.
