Ten Vietnamese scientists listed among world’s best

In the field of Engineering and Technology, Professor Doctor Nguyen Dinh Duc, director of the Academic Affairs Department at Vietnam National University (VNU), Hanoi, was ranked 2007th, with 198 publications and 5,592 citations.

For Environmental Sciences, Professor Doctor Pham Hung Vietnam and Associate Professor Doctor Tu Binh Minh from the University of Science under the VNU Hanoi were ranked 2,963rd and 5095 respectively. Hung saw 108 publications and 10,968 citations while the correspondent figures for Minh are 4,749 and 80.

Four Vietnamese scientists are honored in the field of Best Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Scientists. They are Professor Nguyen Xuan Hung at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, ranked 42nd with 298 publications and 17,475 citations, and Associate Professor Phung Van Phuc of the same university, ranked 1,047th with 49 publications and 2,899 citations.

The other two scientists in this field work at Ton Duc Thang University in HCMC. They are Associate Professor Nguyen Thoi Trung, ranked 144th with 159 publications and 10,113 citations and Associate Professor Thai Hoang Chien, ranked 1,147th with 56 publications and 3,499 citations.

In the field of Medicine, Associate Professor Tran Xuan Bach is the only Vietnamese honored. Working at Hanoi Medical University, he is ranked 5,662nd with 487 publications and 127,375 citations.

Professor Nguyen Van Hieu at Phenikaa University in Hanoi is the only Vietnamese ranked in the field of Material Sciences. He is placed 7,419th with 54 publications and 5,788 citations.

Associate Professor Doctor Le Hoang Son from the VNU Hanoi is the only Vietnamese listed in the field of Computer Science. He is ranked 2,864th with 184 publications and 6,139 citations.

Research.com ranked scientists worldwide in 24 different fields based on a scientist’s D-index (Discipline H-index), which only includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline.

For this year’s ranking, Research.com ranked a total 166,880 candidates around the world.
