According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Cau Giay District received nearly 170 mm of rain in two hours, followed by Tay Ho (150 mm) and Hoang Mai (120 mm). More than 100 mm of rainfall was recorded in the districts of Nam Tu Liem, Thanh Xuan, Ba Dinh and Thanh Tri.
The rain was caused by the impact of a low-pressure trough passing through northern Vietnam, which has been causing rain in the northern region for several days, meteorologists said.
