Community workshop benefits 500 Quảng Nam parents and children

QUẢNG NAM — More than 500 parents, teachers, and child caregivers exchanged experience in child education and protection at a workshop in Quảng Nam Province on April 26.

The workshops, titled Sinh Con, Sinh Cha (Born Children, Born Parents), are part of the Human Safety Net, a community educational programme jointly implemented by the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) and Generali Vietnam Life Insurance LLC (Generali Vietnam) and the Quảng Nam Department of Labour, Invalids & Social Affairs.

The workshop facilitated discussion on three important parenting topics attracting public attention: protecting children against physical and psychological abuse, handling child tantrums, and early education about money.

Participants also discussed the program’s three main content pillars: intelligence, behaviour, and health of children aged under six.

At the event, Generali Vietnam handed 250 gift sets to all participating children, 250 programme booklets to their parents and caregivers, and 30 special in-cash and in-kind gift sets to 30 local families in extreme hardship.

“After such prolonged pandemic interruption, we are very happy to get Sinh Con, Sinh Cha back on the road, reaching out and supporting many more families across the country. The supportive help from both national and local governments and the wholehearted participation of parents, kindergarten teachers and staff greatly motivates us to forge on and further expand the programme’s positive impact,” said Generali Vietnam CEO Tina Nguyễn.

Lê Tuyết Mai, Deputy Director of the NFVC, said: “The Sinh Con, Sinh Cha workshop in Quảng Nam marks the comeback of the local event series to be organised in various provinces and cities across Việt Nam, which will positively contribute to the protection, care, education and development of Vietnamese children” 

As a community education programme since June 2020, Sinh Con, Sinh Cha has benefited more than 3,200 parents, children, kindergarten teachers and staff via local workshops organised across the country.

The programme’s online content has received millions of views, interactions, and positive comments via its sitcom series published on Generali Vietnam’s official YouTube channel and wideranging parenting content on its Facebook page and the Sinh Con Sinh Cha parenting community. —VnExpress News
