HÀ NỘI — There were 20,076 new cases of COVID-19 reported over the past 24 hours, down by nearly 3,000 compared to the day before, according to the health ministry’s Friday report.
Hà Nội and Phú Thọ were the two localities with the most cases, with 1,425 and 1,094, respectively.

The central province of Nghệ An today registered an additional 53,858 COVID-19 infections on the national case management system, after reviewing information and testing.
Việt Nam has recorded 10,394,533 COVID-19 transmissions so far, more than 10 per cent of the population.
The health ministry also announced the recoveries of 6,417 COVID-19 patients, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 8,863,044 since the pandemic began.
1,242 COVID patients currently require oxygen, with three on life support.
The country logged 23 new COVID-related deaths over the past 24 hours in Bến Tre (4), Kiên Giang (2), An Giang (1), Bắc Kạn (1), Bạc Liêu (1), Bắc Ninh (1), Bình Dương (1), Bình Thuận (1), Cần Thơ (1), Cao Bằng (1), Điện Biên (1), Đồng Nai (1), Đồng Tháp (1), Gia Lai (1), Hà Nội (1), Lâm Đồng (1), Quảng Ngãi (1), Thanh Hóa (1) and Vĩnh Long (1).
Việt Nam’s total number of COVID-related fatalities is 42,924, or 0.4 per cent of the total caseload.
More than 209 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Việt Nam so far, including 191.87 million in the adult population and 17.23 million for children aged 12-17. — VnExpress News
