Việt Nam surpasses 5 million COVID recoveries

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam exceeded 5 million COVID recoveries on Friday, while 108,979 new infections were also recorded.

There were 175,540 recoveries, bringing the total number of people given the all-clear to 5,001,564 since the start of the pandemic.

The country’s COVID case tally now stands at 8,761,202.

Among the new transmissions, 84,428 were detected in the community and 22 imported.

The capital city of Hà Nội still topped the list with 10,803 infections, followed by Phú Thọ Province with 4,555 and Nghệ An Province with 4,023.

The remaining cases were found in Yên Bái (3,997), Đắk Lắk (3,925), Bắc Giang (3,720), Lào Cai (3,690), Vĩnh Phúc (3,136), Thái Bình (2,915), Thái Nguyên (2,910), Quảng Bình (2,877), Bắc Ninh (2,806), Lạng Sơn (2,802), Hà Giang (2,795), Hải Dương (2,773), Quảng Ninh (2,654), Sơn La (2,642), Cà Mau (2,394), Bắc Kạn (2,314), Tuyên Quang (2,280), Bình Định (2,237), Bình Dương (1,999), Cao Bằng (1,971), Hòa Bình (1,970), Lâm Đồng (1,920), Hưng Yên (1,900), Vĩnh Long (1,726), Điện Biên (1,648), Lai Châu (1,615), Quảng Trị (1,604), Hà Nam (1,557), Tây Ninh (1,507), Bến Tre (1,433), Ninh Bình (1,314), Bình Phước (1,144), Hồ Chí Minh City (1,139), Đắk Nông (1,128), Nam Định (1,040), Kon Tum (970), Phú Yên (884), Hà Tĩnh (849), Thanh Hóa (803), Trà Vinh (733), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (698), Đà Nẵng (671), Thừa Thiên Huế (668), Quảng Ngãi (668), Khánh Hòa (657), Hải Phòng (612), Bình Thuận (464), Quảng Nam (341), Bạc Liêu (192), Kiên Giang (167), Long An (147), An Giang (132), Cần Thơ (117), Đồng Nai (99), Đồng Tháp (70), Sóc Trăng (54), Ninh Thuận (35), Tiền Giang (32) and Hậu Giang (31).

After review, the provinces of Hoà Bình, Bắc Giang and Vĩnh Phúc registered an additional 22,392, 20,005 and 10,125 infections, respectively.

51 COVID-related deaths were also announced, taking the total number of fatalities to 42,196, accounting for 0.5 per cent of total infections.

The death were in Cà Mau (5), An Giang (4), Bạc Liêu (3), Hà Nội (3), Kiên Giang (3), Lâm Đồng (3), Nghệ An (3), Quảng Ninh (3), Vĩnh Long (3), Bến Tre (2), Bình Thuận (2), Đà Nẵng (2), Bắc Kạn (1), Bình Định (1), Bình Dương (1), Cần Thơ (1), Cao Bằng (1), Hà Giang (1), Hà Nam (1), Hậu Giang (1), Nam Định (1), Ninh Bình (1), Quảng Nam (1), Tây Ninh (1), Thanh Hóa (1), TP. Hồ Chí Minh (1) and Yên Bái (1).

Currently, 3,889 patients have severe COVID infections, including six on life support.
