Of the 84 suspects arrested for their involvement in deadly attacks on People’s Committee offices in Dak Lak Province, 75 are being investigated for terrorism.

Spokesman for the Ministry of Public Security To An Xo said on Friday that police in the Central Highlands’ Dak Lak Province had decided on the crimes to be investigated in line with procedures.

Authorities are also investigating seven people for misprision, one for concealment of crimes and one for brokering illegal entry, exit, or stay in Vietnam.

Lam said the attacks on the People’s Committee offices in Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur Communes on June 11, which resulted in nine deaths, were “organized terrorist acts.”

Of the suspects, one is a member of a terrorist organization based in the U.S. that gave him instructions to infiltrate Vietnam and perform the attacks.

Authorities also said they were in possession of documents that prove that the incident occured due to support and instruction from certain individuals and organizations outside of Vietnam.

Several weapons, including 23 guns, two grenades, 1,200 bullets and 1.2 kg of explosive materials, were seized in raids after the attacks.

The public security ministry said it hopes international friends will support Vietnam during the investigation to solve the case and “fight terrorism.”
