A Chinese boat with 21 crew members had food poisoning, of which 12 died and nine have been treated at Con Dao District hospital on Friday afternoon.
A representative of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province border guard said that the cargo ship were going from Thailand to China and got food poisoning near Con Dao Islands.
Currently, a rescue ship based in Vung Tau is on the way to tow the boat to a safe location.
