Vien wins bronze at FINA World Cup

Top Vietnamese swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien won the women’s 400m individual medley bronze medal in the FINA World Cup’s second stage in France this morning.

Vien clocked a time of 4min 42.53 to finish third.

The gold and silver medals went to Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu and Zsuzsanna Jakabos, who won with a time of 4:35.80 and 4:37.63, respectively.

At the recent World Cup’s first stage in Moscow, Russia, 18-year-old Vien won a silver medal in the same category with a better time of 4:40.79.

Born in the southern Can Tho Province, Vien also won a bronze medal in the women’s 200m individual medley in Russia.
