Over 2,500 athletes from around 50 countries and territories across the world have registered to participate in the forthcoming Hanoi International Heritage Marathon 2018.
The event scheduled to take place in the capital city on October 21 will start from the Ly Thai To Square by Hoan Kiem Lake and pass through the Old Quarter, Long Bien Bridge, West Lake, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and several historic buildings.

Athletes will compete in four categories of the 42km marathon, 21 km half marathon, 10 km run and 5 km run. The winners will be granted with VND400 million (USD17,000).
The race which will be held annually to encourage an interest in sport and Hanoi’s cultural heritage to the world.
The event will be co-organised by the Dai Bieu Nhan Dan (People’s Deputies) newspaper, the DHA Limited Company and the Vietnam Prosperity Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank).
