Pop star Kelly Clarkson will perform in Viet Nam for the first time during the Miss Vietnam 2014 Finale at Vinpearl Phu Quoc in the southern region of Viet Nam this December.
Vingroup said it has invited the famous singer, who won two Grammy awards, to dish out her best songs at the beauty contest.
The company added that its inauguration of the five-star Vinpearl Phu Quoc hotel and resort on November 1 and the Miss Viet Nam 2014 contest would mark the new development of a smoke-free industry on the island.
Vu Tuyet Hang, Vinpearl JSC general director, said the Miss Vietnam 2014 Finale with Kelly Clarkson presented an opportunity to promote Phu Quoc Island and Viet Nam to the world.
Kien Giang-based Phu Quoc, the biggest island in Viet Nam, is considered a Pearl Island in the Gulf of Tonkin.
The 300-hectare Vinpearl Resort Phu Quoc will include a five-star hotel, villas, an entertainment centre and a 27-hole golf course. The resort offers 750 rooms that can accommodate a maximum of 2,000 people. It also includes a modern conference room that measures 1,500 square metres and is fully-equipped with international-grade facilities.
